Adds four federal firearm possession prohibitors to state law. 1) Misdemeanor domestic violence conviction; 2) by court order (Protections/restraining); 3) illegally in US; 4) Fugitive from justice. Requested by law enforcement.
SB480 - Amending search and seizure parameters for parole and postrelease supervision.
Provides statutory amendments to address issues from recent case law.
SB481 - Amending restrictions on the location of facilities for transitional or conditional release under the Kansas sexually violent predator act.
Changes the minimum distance from a child care facility, school or church from 2000 feet to ¼ mile. Eliminates distance requirement from a residence in which a child under the age of 18 resides.
SB482 - Mandatory expungement of arrest records of a person arrested as a result of mistaken identity or identity theft. Just what the title says. Places responsibility on prosecutor to file action.
SB483 - Adding and amending substances included in schedules I, III and IV of the uniform controlled substances act. This is identical to the House bill that House Leadership let die at turnaround.
SB487 - Open meetings; justifications for closed or executive meetings. Appears to tighten reasons for going into a closed meeting or executive session.
HB2715 - Enacting the electronic communications privacy act; relating to electronic communications and search warrants. Requested by Rep. Hildabrand. Restricts investigatory access to electronic communications records. Establishes extensive standards for the use of information obtained via search warrant or other means remaining allowable. Requires notice to the target of a search warrant for electronic data from a third party.
HB2718 - Beer sales by grocery stores and convenience stores if cereal malt beverage is no longer available. A back door method to achieve elimination of 3.2% beer.
